About the Department:

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2015 with the objective of providing quality technical education and developing skilled professionals capable of contributing to infrastructure development and the construction industry. The department provides students with a strong foundation in areas such as surveying, construction technology, structural engineering, transportation engineering, environmental engineering and water resource engineering.

With experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories and practical-oriented learning, the department emphasizes technical knowledge, field exposure, problem-solving skills, safety practices and sustainable construction methods. Students are encouraged to develop the professional competence required to meet the evolving needs of the civil engineering industry.

Vision & Mission

To impart strong technical foundations and professional competence in Civil
Engineering, fostering ethical practices and enabling graduates to address societal
and socio-economic challenges.

M1: To provide a strong foundation in Civil Engineering principles through effective teaching–learning processes, hands-on practical exposure, and problem-based learning to solve real-world engineering challenges.

M2: To inculcate professional ethics, moral values, teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility among students, enabling them to meet industry expectations and societal needs.

M3: To motivate students towards higher education, competitive examinations, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning for continuous professional and career development.

PEO, PO

PEO 1: To produce diploma graduates with a strong foundation in Civil Engineering who can contribute to feasible, safe, and sustainable solutions for societal and community-based engineering problems.

PEO 2: To enhance the capability of graduates to adopt emerging tools, technologies, and techniques in planning, analysis, design, and execution of civil engineering projects through lifelong learning.

PEO 3: To imbibe professional ethics, social responsibility, and environmental consciousness among graduates, enabling responsible engineering practice.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO)

PO1.Basic and Discipline specific knowledge:

Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis:

Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

PO3. Design/ development of solutions:

Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing:

Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment:

Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6.Project Management:

Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.

PO7.Life-long learning:

Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

PSO1: Graduates will apply mathematics, basic sciences, and core Civil Engineering knowledge to identify, analyze, and solve well-defined engineering problems.

PSO2: Graduates will plan, analyze, design, and prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for Civil Engineering works using relevant codes, standards, and modern tools.

PSO3: Graduates will apply technical skills and basic project management practices to plan, supervise, and execute Civil Engineering projects safely, efficiently, and economically.
